On June 23, 2025, Professor Yuval Rinkevich was invited by the Department of Plastic Surgery (整形美容科) of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) to deliver a distinguished lecture titled “New Perspectives in Tissue Repair” (组织修复的热点与展望).
Professor Rinkevich, Director of the Institute for Regenerative Biology and Medicine (IRBM) at the Chinese Institutes for Medical Research (CIMR), is an internationally renowned expert in regenerative medicine and tissue repair. His presentation highlighted recent scientific insights into the cellular, immunological, and structural mechanisms that govern tissue regeneration and fibrosis.
Prior to the lecture, Professor Rinkevich visited the PUMCH History Museum, where he witnessed the hospital’s century-long legacy in advancing medicine in China. He was then given a tour of both the historic and newly developed infrastructure of PUMCH, including the Translational Research Building, the International Medical Services Center, and the inpatient and treatment areas of the Department of Dermatology. These visits provided valuable context for understanding PUMCH’s leadership in clinical and research excellence.
Professor Rinkevich was warmly welcomed by an enthusiastic group of students and surgeons, reflecting the high level of interest in his visit. The lecture took place from 17:30–18:30 in the 3rd-floor Conference Room of Building 1, West Campus, PUMCH, and was part of the hospital’s Plastic Surgery Lecture Series.
This visit further strengthens the relationship between CIMR and PUMCH and showcases the potential of translational collaboration in advancing regenerative medicine in China.
